History

Greater Noida Institute of Technology (GNIOT) is one of the premier institutions in the field of technical and management education. Established in 2001 by the Shri Ram Educational Trust, Noida, the institute was founded on a non-profit basis with a strong commitment to fostering a holistic approach to the development of engineering and management education in India.

The Trust, formed in the year 2000, has witnessed a remarkable journey of growth and success. Today, it has established a group of educational institutions offering undergraduate and postgraduate programs in engineering, management, and related disciplines. Plans are also underway to introduce doctoral programs in the near future.

GNIOT is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), Ministry of Education, Government of India, and is affiliated with Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU), Lucknow. What sets GNIOT apart is its visionary planning and holistic approach to delivering technical and professional education through state-of-the-art infrastructure and modern pedagogical practices.

The primary objective of the institute is to nurture highly creative, skilled, and ethical professionals who can make meaningful contributions to talent development and nation-building.

Adding to its legacy of excellence, GNIOT achieved a significant milestone by securing NAAC A+ Accreditation in 2024 during its very first accreditation cycle, reflecting its commitment to academic quality and institutional excellence. Further strengthening its academic standing, the institute successfully obtained NBA accreditation for three years in its very first attempt on 31st December, 2025, for the departments of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), Electronics and Communication Engineering (EC), and Information Technology (IT).

With these achievements, GNIOT continues to move forward on its path of academic excellence and institutional growth.
