The teaching-learning process plays a vital role in improving the quality of education, enhancing employability skills, and achieving the goals of individuals who contribute to the development of the country.
We provide innovative teaching methods to the next generation of students, such as multimedia-based tools, problem-based learning, and the use of various e-learning tools for better visualization and deeper understanding. Innovative and creative methods of teaching processes focus more on achieving course outcomes, preparing students to be prepared for future industry trends, better prepared to solve complex multidisciplinary problems, bring new perspectives to global challenges, and motivated to become leaders in their chosen field. The Department of Computer Science and Engineering aims to implement a variety of teaching methods that meet the needs of students as part of the curriculum. The following approaches are identified and implemented.
1. Model based Teaching Learning Process |

1. Model based Teaching Learning Process:
The model-based teaching and learning process is a structured approach to emphasize specific models and simulations to enhance the understanding of complex problems in various specialized disciplines. The model-based approach involves problem-based learning, where students work on real-world challenges and case studies related to their specialty. Real-time prototypes are built by teams of faculty members and students for each specialty offered from specific research groups such as Computer Networking, Cloud Computing, Internet of Things and Cyber Security. These prototypes facilitate rapid understanding and integration of concepts. |

(a) Computer Networking:
Cisco Packet Tracer has emerged as a powerful tool that provides hands-on experience in designing, building, and troubleshooting networks, fostering a deeper understanding of theoretical concepts through practical application. Cisco Packet Tracer models, which closely mimic real-time scenarios, are developed for courses such as computer networks, wireless networks, mobile and wireless security, network security, and information security. The key areas for Cisco Packet Tracer-based simulation models are developed and presented to better understand the theoretical concepts:
(i) Routing Protocols |
|
(b) Internet of Things (IoT):
IoT is the recent and next disruptive technology that connects devices, sensors, and systems, enabling them to communicate and share data seamlessly. The approach uses real-world simulations and practical models to understand the complexities of IoT, from device connectivity to advanced data analytics and automation. Key areas for IoT:
(i) Configure IoT devices |
|
2. Application Oriented Teaching and Learning:
It continuously provides quality technical knowledge by applying the following efforts to the learning process.
(i) Project-Based Learning |
|
3. Interactive Java Applets for Self-Learning:
Courses use customized software applets, such as Java-based applets, to understand complex concepts that involve visualizing a virtual world. We can modify many of the parameters provided in the applet, thus gaining broader insight into the subjects. Applets are web-based applications that can be used to visualize algorithms, data structures, computer networks, and other core areas of computer science and engineering. The applications of JAVA applets are used for the following courses:
(i) Data structures |
