Departmental Academic Committee (DAC)
The Departmental Academic Committee (DAC) is a committee formed within each academic department of an institute or university. It serves as the core academic body responsible for planning, implementing, monitoring, and improving all academic activities related to the department.
Purpose of DAC
- To maintain and improve academic standards in teaching, learning, and evaluation within the department.
- To ensure curriculum relevance and regular updates based on industry needs, university norms, and accreditation guidelines.
- To promote research and innovation among faculty and students.
- To guide and support student development through academic mentoring, skill development, and career guidance.
- To facilitate smooth functioning of academic processes such as scheduling, internal assessments, and feedback collection.
- To help align departmental goals with institutional, regulatory, and accreditation requirements (e.g., NAAC, NBA, AICTE).
